Every business needs something different from its website.
A professional supplier working with international travel brands has very different requirements from a local training provider or a global online coaching platform. The design, content and technology must reflect the organisation’s audience, services and commercial goals.
We’ve worked with businesses across Crawley and the surrounding area, creating everything from professional brochure websites to course directories and bespoke subscription platforms.
Here are three very different web design work in Crawley projects—and what they demonstrate about creating a successful business website.
Based near Gatwick Airport, Cecil Macdonald supplies branded beers, wines, spirits and snacks to the UK travel-retail industry.
Its products cater for flights travelling to destinations around the world, making Crawley an ideal location for the business. Its website therefore needed to appeal to an international travel-retail audience while presenting Cecil Macdonald as an established, professional and dependable partner.
The company’s previous website had become dated and no longer reflected the quality of the business or its work. The new site needed to give brand owners and industry contacts a clear, professional introduction to the company.
We involved Cecil Macdonald’s leadership team throughout the project. This ensured that the new website represented the company accurately and had the support of its key stakeholders.
The finished website included:
Most importantly, the website began generating new business enquiries.

A Crawley business may be locally based but internationally focused.
For Cecil Macdonald, the website needed to communicate the professionalism expected by global brands and travel-retail partners. Its location near Gatwick is commercially significant, but the products it supplies travel far beyond the local area.
A successful brochure website doesn’t need endless functionality. It needs a clear purpose, strong presentation and the right information to give prospective customers confidence in the business.

CPD4U is a Crawley-based training and staff-development business led by Tony Ward, an experienced construction and property professional.
As the business moved away from quantity surveying and focused increasingly on training, coaching and mentoring, its website needed to reflect this new direction.
It also had to communicate clearly with two distinct audiences:
We began planning the website by creating a new sitemap and then moved onto designing the website. This allowed us to organise CPD4U’s services around its audiences and give visitors clear routes to the most relevant qualifications, coaching and technical training.
We then created a professional visual identity and designed and developed the website around the company’s new focus.
The project included:
The finished website gave CPD4U a professional platform that better represented its current services, explained its industry credentials and could grow alongside the business.
When a business changes direction, simply applying a new design to its existing website will not solve the underlying problem. For CPD4U, the structure, messages and user journeys all needed to change alongside the business.
This is why effective web design begins with understanding the organisation, its audiences and its goals. Planning the sitemap first allowed the design and content to follow a clear purpose.
The project also demonstrated the value of personal support. Delivering a website is only one part of the job. Helping the client manage the CMS, configure essential services and feel confident using the platform is just as important.

The Badminton Zone was created by two experienced Crawley-based badminton coaches, Dean and David.
They wanted to make their expertise available beyond face-to-face coaching by building an affordable online platform where players could access professional video lessons.
This required much more than a conventional brochure website. We needed to design and develop a complete membership experience through which players could:
We also integrated a specialist video content-delivery network. This provided reliable video playback without placing unnecessary demand on the website’s own server.
The platform was planned carefully using a sitemap, wireframes and detailed user journeys. The client remained involved throughout the process, providing feedback and approving each stage.
The result was a scalable coaching platform with global reach. It enables two Crawley-based coaches to share their expertise with badminton players around the world and has been endorsed by Badminton England.

A business can be based in Crawley without being limited to a local audience.
The Badminton Zone shows how specialist local expertise can become a service used by customers globally. The right website can help a business move beyond the limitations of geography without losing the knowledge, personality and experience that make it distinctive.
It also reinforced the importance of designing around the user. Registration, payment, video discovery and progress tracking needed to feel like one straightforward experience, wherever the player was located.
The technology behind the platform was important, but its purpose was to make learning easier—not to introduce unnecessary complexity.

Crawley’s location beside Gatwick gives the town an unusually international outlook.
Cecil Macdonald caters for flights travelling to destinations around the world, while The Badminton Zone delivers coaching to players globally. CPD4U supports the professional development of individuals and organisations through remote and in-person training.
These projects demonstrate that web design in Crawley isn’t only about attracting customers from the immediate area. The right website can help locally based expertise, products and services reach regional, national and international audiences.
Although the businesses and websites are very different, the projects share several important principles.
A website should solve a genuine business problem.
That might mean repositioning a company, generating more enquiries or creating an entirely new way to deliver a service. Establishing that objective gives every subsequent decision a clear purpose.
Visitors should not have to work hard to decide where to go next.
CPD4U needed to communicate with both individual professionals and business clients. Cecil Macdonald needed to address brand owners and industry contacts. The Badminton Zone needed to serve free users, paying members and players with different coaching interests.
Understanding those audiences allowed us to create a clearer structure for each website.
Professional design matters, but credibility comes from evidence.
Leadership profiles, qualifications, endorsements, testimonials and clear explanations of services help visitors feel confident about taking the next step.
Businesses change, services develop and customer expectations evolve.
An editable and scalable platform allows a website to expand without requiring the business to start again whenever something changes.
A successful website project doesn’t finish when the site goes live.
Hosting, maintenance, technical support and practical CMS training help clients keep their websites secure, accurate and useful over the long term.
Whether you need a professional brochure website, a clearer way to promote your services or a bespoke online platform, the process should begin with your business goals.
We’ll help you plan the structure, design the experience and build a website that is straightforward for your visitors—and straightforward for you to manage.
