The Challenge

With over 15 years of coaching experience from beginners to full-time Internationals, Dean and David are expert badminton coaches. 

They wanted an agency who could create a platform where users can access their video lessons so that they can learn how to  improve all aspects of their badminton game.

The result is The Badminton Zone, a cost-effective resource, now fully-endorsed by Badminton England!

Our Approach

The Badminton Zone is a membership site where users can join and watch videos to improve their game.  Videos are listed in different coaching plans and users can work through an entire coaching plan or watch a specific lesson, then leave and come back in the future.  All user progress is stored in the "My Zone" area of the site.

We integrated a video CDN to remove and manage load on the website itself and provide seamless video content for the users.  Users can sign up and pay for their subscription monthly or yearly using their credit or debit card.

When users sign-up, they are on the free plan and can watch a limited number of videos to get a flavour of The Badminton Zone.  As they subscribe to a paid-plan, all the videos become available and they can choose different categories, depending on the area of interest.  As users watch videos, the website shows their progress and saves it to My Zone, so they can easily come back and continue watching where they left off.

The client was fully involved and approved every step and enjoyed having extensive input in the direction of the project.

We spent time planning the project thoroughly with the client, through the use of a sitemap, then on to wireframes and the user journey.    After this we designed the Home page and once approved by the client, we moved onto the other page designs.

Development of the front-end website was undertaken in parallel with the logged in section, delivering the project as quickly as possible.  The result is a cost-effective, membership website, with the option to build more functionality on top of it in the future.
