St George’s Hospital Charity gives grants and raises funds to improve facilities at St George’s and the communities which use it. Every day, their work impacts patients, their families and friends and the staff who care for them.
St Georges Hospital Charity approached us for a new website to help raise awareness of the charity and increase their online visibility. Featuring their new branding, the new site needed to be better at presenting the charity's work and act as a more efficient way of receiving donations.
After submitting our proposal we were chosen to produce the new website for St George's Hospital Charity. We consulted the various departments in the charity throughout the process, starting by user journey by reorganising and improving the navigation and site architecture to better serve the charity's various audiences.
A funky new design was created to represent the charity's new branding. This ties into everything the client does, cementing the brand and promoting their excellent work.
Single and monthly donations used to be taken via a third party website. One of the charity's key goals for the new site was to bring these "in-house" onto the website, taking payments via stripe. We built blocks that can be placed anywhere with donation forms and a system to email users thanking them for their donations. The backend system also allows the charity staff to download all donations so they can import them into Excel.
Stripe was chosen because it is efficient to work with, has an easy portal for the charity to view payments and monthly subscriptions, has excellent interaction with the site via the API, reasonable charges per transaction and is modern and secure.
As the project progressed we had weekly meetings with various departments at St George's Hospital Charity to take on feedback at each stage and ensure everyone is happy with ideas and their department is being represented fully in the new website.
We built facilities to load different types of events and a simple shop to sell charity products such as Christmas cards and books.
Using Concrete CMS, the new site gives the charity flexibility to add and develop the site, which their marketing team take full advantage of. We provided full training to staff, user guides and continue to supply hosting and ongoing support.
We have continued to work with the charity for 5+ years now, supporting them by developing new functionality for appeals, events and adding content to the News section. The charity uses the CMS extensively, making large changes as and when they need to, enjoying the flexibility that Concrete CMS offers as a website platform.
